Rahab: The Brave Helper of Jericho

Joshua 2; 6

Rahab lived in the city of Jericho. One day, two men from Israel came to her house. They were spies sent by Joshua to look at the city and see how strong it was, because God had promised to give His people the land. The king of Jericho heard that the spies were there and sent soldiers to find them. Rahab was kind and brave. She hid the men on her roof under bundles of flax so the soldiers would not find them. Then she told the men, “I know your God is powerful and will give you this land. Please remember my family and keep us safe.” The spies said, “We will keep you safe. Tie this red cord in your window. When we see it, we will know this is your house.” Rahab tied a red cord in her window so everyone would know her house belonged to someone who trusted God. When the walls of Jericho fell, Rahab and her family were safe, just as God had promised.
