Naomi: From Sadness to Joy

Ruth 1-4

Naomi lived in a faraway land with her family. But very sad things happened. First her husband died, and later her two sons died too. Naomi felt heartbroken and alone. She decided to return to Bethlehem, the place where she had grown up. One of her daughters-in-law, a young woman named Ruth, loved Naomi very much and chose to go with her. When Naomi arrived in Bethlehem, her old friends were happy to see her again, but Naomi’s heart was still sad. As time passed, God began to help Naomi’s family. Ruth married a kind man named Boaz, and soon God blessed them with a baby boy named Obed. Naomi held the baby in her arms, and her heart felt warm again. She thanked God for bringing joy back into her life.
