Michal was the daughter of King Saul. She cared a lot about David. One day, King Saul became very jealous of David and wanted to hurt him. Michal heard about the danger and wanted to keep David safe. She quickly helped David escape by letting him down through a window so he could run away before the king’s helpers came. Her quick thinking and bravery saved life of David. Many years later, David became the king. One special day, the people brought the Ark of the Covenant into the city. The Ark was a special chest that reminded everyone of God’s presence. David was so happy and thankful to God that he danced and sang in the streets with all his heart. People clapped, played music and celebrated joyfully. Michal watched from a window. She did not understand why David was dancing so much so she felt upset and did not join the celebration. But David was worshiping God in the way his heart felt joyful.
