Jael: The Woman Who Stopped the Enemy

Judges 4

When Deborah was the judge of Israel, the people were being treated badly by a leader named Sisera. Deborah told Barak to gather soldiers because God would help them in a big battle. And just as God promised, the battle went well for Israel. When Sisera saw that his army was losing, he ran away to hide. He came to the tent of a woman named Jael. Jael welcomed him kindly but she knew he had done many wrong things. When he tried to rest, Jael trusted God and found a way to stop him so he could not hurt anyone anymore. Because Jael was brave, God’s people were safe again and everyone thanked God for His help.
