Potiphar’s Wife

Genesis 39

Potiphar’s wife lived in a big house in Egypt. Her husband, Potiphar, worked for the king so their home was very important. She had many helpers, one of them was Joseph. Joseph worked hard every day and tried to do what was right because he loved God. One day, Potiphar’s wife wanted Joseph to do something wrong. Joseph said no because he wanted to obey God. This made her upset and she made a choice that was not kind. She said something about Joseph that was not true. Because of her words, Joseph got into trouble even though he had not done anything wrong. This made things very hard for Joseph but God stayed close to him the whole time.
