Lot’s Wife: The Woman Who Looked Back

Genesis 19

Lot and his family lived in a city called Sodom, where people were doing many wrong things. God sent two angels to warn them that the city was going to be destroyed. The angels told Lot, “Take your family and hurry away! Do not stop, and do not look back.” God wanted them to keep their eyes forward on the new life He had planned for them. Lot and his family ran toward the hills, but Lot’s wife turned around to look back at the city. She did not do what God said, and she turned into a pillar of salt. Her story reminds us that when God asks us to move forward, we should trust Him and not hold on to the past.
