Sapphira

Acts 5:1-11

Sapphira and her husband Ananias were part of the early church, where everyone shared what they had to help each other. They decided to sell their land to help others and this was a kind thing to do. But they made a wrong choice. They wanted people to think they were giving all the money, even though they were keeping some of it for themselves. When asked if they had given the full amount, they lied that they had given the full amount. This made God very sad because God loves honesty. The church learned that lying and pretending to be something we’re not is never the right choice. Even though Sapphira made a wrong decision, God used this story to help the whole church understand how important it is to be honest and truthful.
