Lydia

Acts 16:11-15

Lydia lived in a city called Philippi. She was a successful businesswoman. She sold beautiful purple cloth, which was very special and very expensive. One day she went to a place of prayer by the river, where Paul was teaching about Jesus. As Lydia listened, her heart opened wide. She knew right away that everything Paul said about Jesus was true. Lydia believed in Jesus with joy, and she and her whole household were baptized. Lydia wanted to help God’s work, so she invited Paul and the believers to stay in her home. Her house became a warm, welcoming place where people came to pray and learn more about Jesus.
